As we walk the narrow way, many times, we feel alone, left out and lonely. There will be times, in our Christians walk, when we being to wonder, if God, who has promised, never to leave us, is with us, or has He left us. We can be rest assured, regardless of how we feel, God never ever leaves us. He is always with us. The Word of God reassuringly states – “19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19
Prophet Isaiah records in Isaiah 49:14, a statement of the people of Israel – “14 But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.” We too, may have felt the same, at various times, in our lives.
The response of the LORD, to this doubting question is, absolutely worth reading, and truly worth remembering always. The very next verse says – “15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.”
The comparison is intentionally made, to be stark in contrast, to bring out the truth – “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb?…” This is impossible. Even if that which is impossible, were to actually happen, it is good for us to know that, the LORD will not forget us, nor abandon us – “…Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.”
Whatever “Zion said…” is said. How about us? What thoughts and doubts are running around in our hearts and minds? Let us leave, all and any doubts, about God being with us. Instead, let us, by faith and confidence, step out, knowing fully well that, the LORD who called us is, truthful and trustworthy. He stands by His word, and we need not have any doubts like the people of Israel. May the LORD help us to “7…walk by faith, [and] not by sight.” – Corinthians 5:7
"The most important lesson that I have learned is to trust God in every circumstance. Lots of times we go through different trials and following God's plan seems like it doesn't make any sense at all. God is always in control and he will never leave us."
