Today is 31st January 2024. It is the last day, of the first month, of the new year. The year 2024 had come, and we have already completed the first month. I am reminded of David, and his words in Psalm 23:1-3 – “1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”
The concept of the Shepherd and the sheep is, something that we should never forget. The LORD is our Shepherd, and we are the sheep…His sheep. The LORD, as our Shepherd, will take care of our journey, meet all our needs, protect us from all harm and danger. We need not worry, nor be afraid of anything. We simply need to trust and obey like David, who says – “4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalms 23:4
Wherever the Shepherd leads, we must walk faithfully. Whatever may be the kind of road – light or darkness – the LORD will take care of us, our needs, and all that concerns us. Whenever we are concerned about something, and scared, we must remember what the LORD had said – “9…“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness….” – 2 Corinthians 12:9. HalleluYah!!!
What are we concerned about? What is it that is troubling us? Let us learn to LEAN on our Shepherd. Let us learn to TRUST our Shepherd. Let us confidently WALK in faith, and in OBEDIENCE, by the side of our Shepherd. He will take care. He has done it in the past, and He will do it even today.
""I have nothing to do with tomorrow, My Saviour will make that His care. Should He fill it with trouble and sorrow, He’ll help me to suffer and bear. I have nothing to do with tomorrow, Its burden then why should I share? Its grace and its faith I can’t borrow, Then why should I borrow its care?""
