The following verses speak about the justice, equality and fairness as envisioned and intended by YAHWEH.
YAHWEH gave these for His “Chosen People” to practice, in the “Promised Land.”
These words of YAHWEH speak of His heart and His desire towards all people in the light of justice, equality and fairness.
Yeshua, the LORD Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walked this path as the “Lamb of God” to redeem His creation.
Please read them slowly and intentionally. The heart and the mind of God our LORD emerges clearly and unambiguously. This should enlighten and empower us to walk the same path as did our LORD.
– “24 But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.”
– “3 Thus says the LORD: “Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.”
– “9 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Enough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness, and stop dispossessing My people,” says the Lord GOD. 10 “You shall have honest scales, an honest ephah, and an honest bath.”
– “6 For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 7 “But like men they transgressed the covenant; There they dealt treacherously with Me. 8 Gilead is a city of evildoers And defiled with blood. 9 As bands of robbers lie in wait for a man, So the company of priests murder on the way to Shechem; Surely they commit lewdness. 10 I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: There is the harlotry of Ephraim; Israel is defiled.”
– “6 With what shall I come before the LORD, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” – Amos 5:24; Jeremiah 22:3; Ezekiel 45:9; Hosea 6:6;Micah 6:6
The LORD Jesus said these words addressing the Pharisees…
– “42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.”
– “Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!” – Luke 11:42; Deuteronomy 27:19
These words of our LORD are to be taken seriously, with a sincere and honest intention to obey and implement immediately. Please think about it!
"God’s personal, passionate concern for justice and righteousness was the starting place for His people to build them into every part of their culture. The place we should all live from is “justice and righteousness.” Everything we do, from the way we raise our families to the way we run our businesses to our own relationships with the vulnerable, should reflect “justice and righteousness."
