The last words written in the Bible are found in Revelation 22:20-21
– “20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” – Revelation 22:20-21
The above words are of great comfort and hope, for us, as Christians, and a terrifying truth, about the reality to come, for the others, in the world. The return of the LORD is, spoken of by the LORD Jesus Himself, in the gospels; by Paul and Peter, in the epistles; and they are the last words written in the Bible, by the apostle John, in the book of Revelation.
How do we see the words written in Revelation 22:20-21? Do they bring comfort and hope for us? Do they make us afraid, and terrify us? It is a good time to pause and ponder over these matters. Can we say, like the apostle John,
– “20…Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
May the LORD help us to seek Him, and walk with Him, all the days of our lives.
– “21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
"At the very close of the book is the confession that the answers to the problems of life do not lie in man’s ability to create a better world but in the return of the One whose sovereign power controls the course of human affairs."
