Life seems unfair so many times. The things that happen to us in life, can leave us helpless, weak and vulnerable. At times, the suffering and the pain, because of human tragedy, is so huge, that the void it leaves in us, seems impossible to overcome. Such is the way of human life, and its uncertainty.
Take for instance, a young teenage girl, bubbly and fully of life. All of a sudden, out of the blue, she meets with an accident, where none are at fault, and she dies. A young and promising life is snuffed out, just like that, for no particular reason. What would go through the hearts of the parents and their family? Unimaginable pain and anguish, with more questions than answers. This is the cold reality of life.
Thankfully, we are not left alone. Thankfully, we are not hopeless. Thankfully, help is not too far away. God cares for us, and hope that is found in Him is, not only comforting, but also, lasting.
– “8 You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?” – Psalms 56:8
God’s comforting help comes to our rescue in so many dimensions. Sometimes it comes directly, and many times through God’s faithful human agents.
HELP AND HOPE FROM GOD
– “3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
– “4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
HELP FROM HUMAN AGENTS OF GOD
– “2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
– “14 Now we exhort you, brethren…comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:14
May the LORD help us to be His ambassadors of hope, help and comfort to those in their needs. May the comfort we received from the LORD, and hope that is in Him alone, drive us to stand with those who are going through pain, anguish and suffering. The world needs healing and help…may we be found among those, who bring relief and hope. Even so the LORD help us.
"...He wipes away every tear from our eyes and remove every cause of sorrow and grief. God is not calloused nor indifferent to our suffering. He does not throw us into suffering and turn away while he waits for it to have its good effect in our lives. He is with us in the suffering."
