Family and friends have such an important role to play in our lives. Despite the disagreements and the struggles, the support of the the family and friends is important. This is even more significant for a Christian. This is why, the Bible emphasises so much on love, unity and helping each other, as the family of God.
– ’34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” – John 13:34-35
– “9 But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;” – 1 Thessalonians 4:9
– “22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,” – 1 Peter 1:22
– “1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.” – Romans 15:1-2
– “2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
I am blessed with some very dear people in the family and among friends. I feel so blessed and well cared for. I thank God all their love and affection towards me, despite my falterings and failings. It means a lot to me. May the LORD bless all these wonderful people, be gracious towards them, and all that is close to their hearts, is my prayer.
– “1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. 3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing—Life forevermore.” – Psalm 133
BEHOLD, HOW GOOD AND HOW PLEASANT!!!
"Love one another...is central to Christian ethics and community life. The Greek word for love used here is "agape," which denotes selfless, sacrificial love. This type of love is not based on emotions or feelings but is an act of will, reflecting God's love for humanity. In the cultural context of the time, where social hierarchies and divisions were prevalent, this command to love one another was radical, promoting unity and equality among believers. This love is to be the defining characteristic of Jesus' disciples, as further emphasized in John 13:35.""
