We go through all kinds of circumstances in life. It is a mixture of good and bad circumstances. This is a reality of the life we live. Some of us may experience more good than bad circumstances in our life. Some others may experience more bad than good circumstances in our lives. This is also a reality of life.
What does the LORD has to say about this matter. What does the Bible say about our lives and the circumstances we encounter.
– “12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12
The Bible says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial….” This simply means the trial or trials are allowed for a purpose, and we are called to remain steadfast in our faith. Whatever our set of circumstances, we are called to always trust God and depend upon Him. We are called to be steadfast in our heart and in our mind. Tough trials are allowed so that it can test our faith in the LORD; our resolve to look to God unflinchingly in the face of trials; to continue to walk the Narrow Path, faithfully and obediently, despite the struggles and the storms, and also to give us a reality check about our actual strengths and weaknesses.
Whatever may be the kind of trial we might be facing, one fact remains true – God is with us in it. He will not leave us to fend for ourselves. He cares for us, and will stands with us right in the midst of it all. Know that, God is with us always, whether we feel it it not.
– “1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. 3 For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Saviour…” – Isaiah 43:1-3a
When we trust God and walk faithfully and obediently depending upon Him, to face and endure our trials and our testings, the LORD will give us “…the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” The trials are to test our mettle. They are to show a mirror to our faith. They are to reveal the chinks in our armour.
Therefore, let us make the LORD, the source of all our help, strength and comfort, as we journey through this Narrow Path. “LET GOD CARRY IT – “OUR CIRCUMSTANCES” and depend upon Him. May we trust the LORD, who is our Shepherd, and walk faithfully and obediently after Him, as He leads us and guides us. Even so, the LORD help us.
"Perseverance under trial is a recurring theme in the Bible, seen in the lives of figures like Job, who remained faithful despite severe testing. Trials are understood as opportunities for spiritual growth and maturity, as seen in Romans 5:3-4, where suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope."
