Love for one another is one of the central themes of the Bible. This love, that the Word of God talks about, is modelled on the Love that is demonstrated by the LORD Himself.
Love is an emotion, and needs to be embodied for a tangible experience. Love is experienced in different ways. One way is what we saw yesterday, through the words of James, the ‘brother’ of the LORD Jesus – “to confess our sins and wrongs, one to another.”
Another visible way to personify the love of the LORD, is “to pray for the needs of one another.” This tangibly demonstrates our love for the other.
Someone wisely said, “One of the kindest things you can do for someone in need is pray for them.”
Not only it is a way to demonstrate our love for a fellow believer, and those ‘outside,’ but it also heals us. There is a blessing tied to the act of praying one for another. The healing is the healing of relationships, of our minds and our hearts; this blissful state of health would naturally heal us in a physical sense too.
Therefore… “16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
"There is nothing that makes us love a man so much as praying for him."
