FOUR FOUNDATIONAL STONES – “ACCEPT ALL THINGS”
September 25, 2026Hymns and songs are very special and integral part of a Christian’s life. Church services would be dull and boring without them. Our lives as a Christian would be dull and boring too, without hymns and songs that speak about our God and His glory. Each of us have our own favourite hymns and songs of praise and worship. Such songs help us to meaningfully praise, thank and worship the LORD Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Each of us have many favourite hymns and songs. Three of my favourite songs are…
– “I will sing Your praises. I will sing Your praises. I will sing Your praises. Forever more.”
– “I sing praises to your name O LORD…”
– “I will sing of the mercies of the LORD…”
Ian Smale wrote the song “I will sing Your praises. I will sing Your praises. I will sing Your praises. Forever more” in 1984, which is more famously known as “Father God I wonder how I managed to exist…”
Terry MacAlmon wrote the song “I sing praises to your name O LORD…” in 1986 [some sources note it as 1985] during a time of quiet prayer before an evening Church service.
James Henry Fillmore [1849 to 1936] composed this song “I will sing of the mercies of the LORD…” around late 1800s or early 1900’s.
Each of the above three songs exclusively focus on signing praises to the LORD our God. This is what we all should be focusing on, in our lives. Singing praises to our God for all what He had done, and is doing even right now. It doesn’t end there. The LORD will continue to be with us all through our lives. He will never ever leave us nor forsake us – Hebrews 13:5b. Therefore, He is worthy of all our praise, adoration and worship.
The goodness, grace and mercy of God coupled with God’s unchanging nature and character should bring us to our knees in offering Him ceaseless praise, adoration, worship and thanks with all our heart and mind. This is why the following Psalms say the following…
– “9 I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations.” – Psalm 57:9
– “23 My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed.” – Psalm 71:23
– “3 I will give thanks to you, Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.” – Psalm 108:3
– “33 I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” – Psalm 104:33
How about us this morning, dear brothers and sisters? Are we singing praises to our God? Let us not forget to praise and worship our God. For He alone is worthy of all our praise, adoration and worship. Therefore, let us say, I WILL SING YOUR PRAISES…FOREVER MORE… Even so, the LORD Jesus help us.
