Many things catch our attention in our lives. Many things draw us to desire them in this world. “WHAT DESIRE YE O CHRISTIAN?” The LORD Jesus speaking to the people wanting to listen to His words and follow Him, says…
– “33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33
What our LORD commands us to desire and seek it with our whole heart, mind and soul is the kingdom of God, and His righteousness. This is absolutely essential for us as Christians, the disciples and the ambassadors of the LORD Jesus Christ. The following words of the apostle Paul reflect the words of our LORD Jesus.
– “1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” – Colossians 3:1-3
Solomon the wise has the same words for us in Proverbs 2:21, in a slightly different words.
– ’21 For the upright will dwell in the land, And the blameless will remain in it;” – Proverbs 2:21
WHAT DESIRE YE O CHRISTIAN? Dear brothers and sisters let us not concern ourselves with the things that we need for our life and our living. Instead, let us earnestly seek the LORD our God with all our heart, mind and soul; the rest He will take care. Let this be our theme this Monday morning, all through the week ahead, and the new month. Even so, the LORD Jesus help us.
"Jesus commands His disciples to give first place to God’s saving rule in their hearts, loyalties, and conduct...Such righteousness includes obedience, justice, mercy, and holiness...Jesus does not promise luxury or freedom from hardship, but He assures His children that their needs are known to God and will not be neglected. Trust in the Father’s provision frees believers from anxious pursuit of material security and enables faithful service to His kingdom."
