The world as we know it today is walking on a path of self-destruction. The destructive forces and powers are lodged firmly within the human heart. The human spirit, since the fall in the garden of Eden, is a continuous rebellion against YAHWEH, and His order, intended in our Creation. In the present age, this spirit or force is being led by a “city” and a system called Babylon…a certain kind of life and a lifestyle.
Our world is led into sin, and a rebellion against God, by this particular “city” and its system, being passionately promoted by its vassal states. The time is fast approaching when the LORD God Almighty will judge the nations, and it will begin with that great “city” and the system it is promoting.
The Bible says, “8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” – Revelation 14:8
The description of that great City is clearly given, so that none can miss it for anything else – “2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” – Revelation 18:2-3
It is for sure a city, a people and a system, that is actively practiced, and passionately promoted, all over the world. It wouldn’t be too difficult for anyone to find the direction to which the Word of God is pointing. It is a city and a system of life, living and lifestyle.
“15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What is like this great city?’ 19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’”* – Revelation 18:15-19
My dear brother and sister, let us not let, the spirit of Babylon, to have its influence over us. May we, eagerly seek the LORD, for grace to walk in His ways, and stand for the LORD, and His values and principles, no matter the cost. Even so the LORD help us.
"Can you feel the falseness that prevails in Babylon? Babylon is always religious and knows how to keep up appearances, but that only serves to conceal the idols Babylon really worships. Money and Power. Economy and Military. The falseness is the phony assumption that the pursuit of money and power is sustainable and leads to a life worth living."
