One of the fundamentals of our faith, is a heart to sacrifice, as demonstrated by our LORD. Any Christian that hesitates to sacrifice cheerfully, is someone who needs to examine his faith.
Sacrifice is the perfect antidote for self- interest and selfishness. Sacrifice builds us, in spite of giving ourselves up. Selfishness destroyed us, in spite of hoarding all that one possibly can.
If we are serious about our faith, and desire to grow in our spiritual life, then we will take sacrifice seriously. Sacrifice in obedience to the LORD…””Son of man came not to be served, but to serve.”” [Mk 10:45]
Therefore…
Be willing to sacrifice your time, talents and resources for others.
Be willing to lay your heart, thoughts, motives, emotions and everything else on the alter before the LORD.
Be willing to say unflinchingly that, “”Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ…”” [Phi 3:8]
