Safety and security is on the top three things on everyone’s minds. The idea is not just our physical safety from threats. The idea of security is much wider, deeper and larger. It includes us, our family, and all that concerns our present, and our future. A wholesome and inclusive idea of safety.
Such a safety is humanly not possible. We may with our intelligence and forethought can plan and prepare for certain threats. Paul writing in Ephesians 6:12 says that – “…we wrestle not against flesh and blood.”* Therefore, *no one can ever prepare for threats from different dimensions and be safe.
Psalm 33:16-20 – “16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
19 To deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.”
The king, the mighty man and the horse doesn’t save anyone. It is the LORD and He alone who can and will save us. Therefore, let us wait upon the LORD.
"Those who do not hope cannot wait; but if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
