Persecution, in whatever form it comes, is unpleasant and undesirable, to say the least. However, if we care to pause, and try to see the benefits, we will be pleasantly surprised, though the pain of it may not go away. Pain in the persecution should not stop us to have a perspective different from popularly accepted one.
Let us see what are going to gain from the persecution…
– We pray more than ever.
– We rely on God.
– We become spiritually stronger.
– We become resilient.
– Reality of Christian life is seen clearly.
– Our undue trust and dependency upon the systems of the world drastically comes down.
– Our hope and dependency on the LORD, and His help, goes up.
“1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:1-2
"...at the very least, persecution helps Christians to see what their priorities are, and can foster a deeply spiritual faithfulness, grounded in the ever-present prospect of eternity."
