Many times we Christians try to use prayer and the promises of the LORD as some “magic wands” in the desperate hope that we could ward off the “evil” that has come upon us. Praying is good, and so also the promises of God. Nothing wrong with them. The problem is the way we “use” them.
The LORD wants us to know that solving the problems we encounter on our journey, has to be on our own. This doesn’t mean, the LORD doesn’t care about our problems. It also doesn’t mean, that the LORD would not want to help us. The LORD very much cares for us. The LORD very much wants to help us. There are no second thoughts on it. This is FAITH and OBEDIENCE in action.
He will not come and clean our slate, and give us a brand new one, every time we mess it up. It is not going to happen. He wants us to clean it, and carry forward. This is the bitter truth.
He expects us to use our brains to slice the problems. He expects us to use our resources to observe and analyse our problem, the reasons for it, and come up with sound solutions. This is the best way – faith and obedience.
God wants to work in tandem with us. He will help us solve our problems. However, we do it, and not expect God to do everything, and give us a plate full of goodies. A point to note.
God wants us to take RESPONSIBILITY for our lives, and be ACCOUNTABLE for all our actions. This is the way for our healthy growth.
"Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you."
