In continuation of our study of Proverbs 11, let us see verse 8 for our meditation.
– “8 The righteous is delivered from trouble, And it comes to the wicked instead.” – Proverbs 11:8
What do we see in the verse above? I see the wonderful promise of God!!! Do you see the same? Many times we miss out on the critical point, and roam around on the periphery. I see a promise because, the deliverance is mentioned in the definitive.
– “8 The righteous IS DELIVERED from trouble…”
Have we not seen, Abraham, Joseph, David, Daniel, Paul, Peter…and the list goes on. Have we not seen the deliverance of God in our own lives, in the past? Or have we forgotten? David Wilkerson has some pointed words for us…
– “How quickly we forget God’s great deliverances in our lives. How easily we take for granted the miracles he performed in our past.”
Let us read a few more Bible verses that highlight for us, the heart of God, and the promises He had made…
– “18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!” – 2 Timothy 4:18
– “7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.” – Psalms 121:7
– “21 “I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.” – Jeremiah 15:21
The evil that was meant for us, will be turned on to the wicked. This is what the second part of Proverbs 11:8 says…
– “…And it comes to the wicked instead.”
– Have we not seen the hand of God, when certain powerful people, who wanted to kill Daniel by trickery, and later, they themselves were thrown into the lion’s den? – Daniel 6:10-24
– Have we forgotten how God’s people were rescued by God, and Haman, the evil conspirator, was hanged on the very pole, that he erected for Mordecai? – Esther 7:5-10
Do we need any further evidence about God’s faithfulness, in keeping up His end of the promise? We need no further proof.
Let us remember our end of all the promises of God…obedience and faith. Let us seek the LORD, to help us walk, faithfully and obediently for His glory. Even so the LORD help us.
"Real faith rejoices in the promise of God as if it saw the deliverance and was enjoying it."
