Christmas is the birth of the Christ Child. He has come to REDEEM those who are lost and lifeless – that is the whole of humanity. He comes seeking for us, like the Good Shepherd, who comes for His sheep. Jesus our Messiah, has come to save us from our sins, and its eternal consequences. There is none who can saves us from our sins. The LORD Jesus is the only hope, the world has. But for the LORD Jesus, the world has no hope whatsoever.
– “2 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.” – Isaiah 9:2
HOPE is what Jesus gives us, in a world where we find no hope. All what we experience is hopelessness and despair. However, the God of of all creation, the LORD God Almighty, our Saviour, the LORD Jesus Christ is gracious and merciful. He always looked upon the fallen world with love, grace and mercy. This goodness of our God is the foundation of all our hope and expectation.
– “1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1
Hope in Christ is not empty promises of hope. It is hope with certainty, that the One who promised it to us, is good and faithful, and that He will fulfill all what He has promised. Isn’t that GREAT to know? It sure is!!!
– “A Christian will part with anything rather than his hope; he knows that hope will keep the heart both from aching and breaking, from fainting and sinking; he knows that hope is a beam of God, a spark of glory, and that nothing shall extinguish it till the soul be filled with glory.” – Thomas Brooks
While walking through this life, we surely will encounter, many a dark night, and many a troubling situation. Sometimes such dark times may last for a long time. At times, for some, storms, struggles and suffering may never leave us at all. Whatever our situation, we ought to realise and remember that, the LORD Jesus Christ is the only hope that we have. He is the only sure hope we can ever have. Therefore, we should learn to wait upon Him, and to look to Him for strength and courage in times of despair and hopelessness.
– ‘5 My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” – Psalm 62:5-8
May the LORD Jesus, the source of all iir hope be with us and guide us.
– “13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13
"Optimism is a wish without warrant; Christian hope is a certainty, guaranteed by God Himself. Optimism reflects ignorance as to whether good things will ever actually come. Christian hope expresses knowledge that every day of his life, and every moment beyond it, the believer can say with truth, on the basis of God’s own commitment, that the best is yet to come."
