The birth of the LORD Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God and the Saviour, who came to save the fallen human beings from their sin, is indescribable, to say the least. What was intended by God through the birth, life and death of the LORD Jesus on the Cross of Calvary is beyond our comprehension. Not that we cannot see it, and know the facts, but to understand, how could someone do such a magnanimous thing, for such wicked and evil people like you, me and all of us in the world, is what should make us stop and think. It is beyond human means to know this LOVE, SACRIFICE and FORGIVENESS that is made available in the LORD Jesus Christ.
– “14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” – John 3:14-17
If we notice the words and the meaning of it, we see that, God chose to do this volitionally for us. We did not ask, request or beg God to save us. Herein is the love of God towards us, so unique and amazing.
– “4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” – Galatians 4:4-5
Dear brothers and sister, when God poured upon us, ever so freely, His precious and priceless love, how then should we be responding to so great a love? How then should we be living for this God, as His disciples and ambassadors?
– “1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” – 1 John 3:1-3
May we always remember the LOVE, SACRIFICE and FORGIVENESS that the LORD God our Creator had made available for us freely, in the LORD Jesus Christ. May we too walk in His ways, and be wiling to LOVE, SACRIFICE and FORGIVE others around us – even our enemies, just as He did. This is truly celebrating the birth of the Christ Child. This is following the One who redeemed us. This is obedience to the One who paid for our freedom by His own blood. Shall we walk such a path? This is what our LORD wants from us. Even so, the LORD help us.
