Death is a painful separation. It is physical, mental and emotional separation, where the person, and the shared relationship, is remembered only in memories. Those who are left behind, because of the nature of the separation, will go through pain, anguish and suffering. It is the separation from our loved ones, that will make us go through such a state. In simple words, it is called, “GRIEVING.”
For a Christian, grief is not debilitating and disorienting state. A Christian, even though, he goes through grief, will not be in a state of abandonment. Also, this state of separation is never a permanent state – for a Christian alone. Only a Christian has the hope of meeting again all their loved ones, because they have committed their hearts to the LORD Jesus Christ, in obedience to His call of rescue and redemption – John 3:16.
The source of such a hope is based on the Words of God Almighty, written down for all humans, in the form of the Bible. The eternal Word of God says…
“14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
“16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
“4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 16-17, Revelation 21:4.
What a hope it is for us!!! We will see and meet, all our loved ones, because of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Therefore, death, for a Christian, is not to be perceived as the world does. They have no hope, but not so with us. All glory be to the LORD!!! “13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.
"Death to the Christian is the funeral of all his sorrows and evils, and the resurrection, of all his joys."
