CONTENTMENT – IT’S A DECISION!

Modern man thinks that what we are is unlike anyone in the past. The Word of God differs on this. What plagues us, is the same, from the garden, and it hasn’t changed over these millennias. It is just the packaging that has changed, but the product inside is still the same. The problem is with our hearts. This is where everything begins, and this where all our problems are.

The LORD speaks to us through Paul, exhorting us to keep our heart in its place, and feet firmly on the ground – “6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” – 1 Timothy 6:6-10

The LORD Jesus spoke ever so clearly about money and human heart – “21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” – Matthew 6:21

The issue is not about money, but about our hearts. May the LORD help us see the difference and surrender our hearts to our LORD and Master.
