Advisors and advises are important for us to live a meaningful and purposeful life. Everyone needs advise and guidance – especially young people. Young people have boundless energy. They are mostly restless, and wanting to do something. This is precisely the state which can go either way. One can make it big, or simply ruin it all. Such is the nature of the phase they are in.
Good advise, at the right time can be of a great help, if taken seriously, and followed up sincerely. The Word of God hits the nail on its head in Proverbs 11:14; 24:6; 15:22 – “14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
“6 For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
“22 Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
Please note, everyone who has an opinion need not be giving sound advise. Listen and verify with multiple sources, before arriving at a conclusion. Don’t be hasty. Don’t be in a hurry to get it done. Most often mistakes happen in such situations. Remember always, advisors only “advise” – it is you who has to decide, and get the work done. So be wise and firm in the process.
Therefore, seek for advise and advisors. Learn to think from all possible angles. Then decide upon the conclusion. Follow it though with all your strength.* If for some reason we fail, *let us not lose the heart, but pick up the pieces, rectify the errors, and repeat the process. May the LORD help us.
"No man [is] so wise, that he may not easily err, if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master."
