David always had a song to praise God, whatever may be his situation. There is such an important lesson for us in what David says in Psalms 68:32 – “32 Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:”
When we read the Psalms, and in particular, the ones written by David, we see his focus is always God, His goodness and His mercy. Whatever may be the situation he may be in, David always chose to praise God and thank Him for all that he was blessed with, thus far. Herein is the secret of David’s strength. He made God his fortress and refuge, to which David always ran.
How about our situation? How are we coping? Do we have a song? Do we run to God? Do we make Him our fortress and refuge?
"When you accept the fact that sometimes seasons are dry and times are hard and that God is in control of both, you will discover a sense of divine refuge, because the hope then is in God and not in yourself."
