One of the gifts of being a child is inquisitiveness and innocence. One helps us with exploring life, and acquiring knowledge. While the other, if held onto, helps us keep ourselves from wrong and bad things in life.
Innocence as defined in a dictionary means, “lack of guile, cunning and corruption; purity.” One should never lose such a trait. We should make every effort to hold on to it.
Many times people mistake innocence with ignorance. It is one of the tragedies of life. Such a line of thinking is not only a misconception, but is also grossly wrong.
However, it is important for us to know, that while pursuing life, and learning the survival skills, one of the first casualties is innocence. People may lose their innocence, or simply sacrifice it in the hope, that it will help them progress ahead in life. It doesn’t.
The LORD Jesus while exhorting on how to live among bad and wicked people, says this, “16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” – Matthew 10:16
Let us seek the LORD to help us live a life that is pleasing to Him, and that which brings glory and honour to Him.
""2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.""
