As life progresses, we realise that a lot of people shower their love and resources upon us. Life and living is impossible, without such overwhelming love, kindness and generosity poured into our lives. To live without realising and remembering, all who have blessed us with their kindness and generosity, would be nothing short of living a pathetic life.
However, it is good to know that, in our List of Gratitude, where we name all to whom we owe our gratitude, God is always, at the top of it all. God is the only One, who deserves our utmost gratefulness, and gratitude, all our lives. For He alone is the One, who truly knows us, and yet, He loved us, like no one else. He loved us to the extent of willingly sacrifice Himself, for the rescue, redemption and restoration of our utterly destroyed lives, worth absolutely nothing…zero.
– “20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…” – Ephesians 5:20a
– “6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us…10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” – Romans 5:6-8, 10
– “11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever…” Then all the people shouted with a great shout…” – Ezra 3:11
Now to the “List of Gratitude” – do we have one? Does it have the names of people, who have been a blessing in our lives? Where is God on our list of gratitude? May we always remember to be thankful and grateful to the LORD. Even so the LORD help us.
"To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything He has given us -- and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him."
