Many times in life, we don’t pay much attention to small things. We think, they are insignificant and unimportant, to take note of. We could be making a serious mistake, in doing so. This is conventional wisdom.
Agur the son of Jakeh thinks, that there is so much to learn from four things which are LITTLE, yet EXCEEDINGLY WISE in Proverbs 30:24-28 – “24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:
25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.
They are described as not strong, feeble, have no leader or king, fragile and easily crushed – yet they do exceedingly well in their lives. The common factor among the four is Discipline, Dedication, Hardwork, Unity, Responsibility and Commitment – the indispensable principles to do well in life.
May we take note of these four little things, and learn to adopt their work ethic and the principles for our lives.
"The success or failure of our work as a church or mission depends, in the last resort, largely, not in the number of preachers we put into the field, nor on the size of our congregations, but rather on the character of Christianity we and our work produce."
