Disagreements are common in all human relationships. Disagreements, when serious, and are held with a tight and inflexible fist, would lead to conflict. Conflict, if left unresolved, would lead to separation, and ultimately destruction.
We as human beings, rebelled against the LORD, and as a consequence of this sinful act, we had to be separated from the LORD God Almighty, our Creator. This conflict has two clear sides, where all the wrong is on our side. Yet, the LORD being loving, kind and gracious, did not leave us to our fate, and our destruction. Though God, despite being at no fault, chose to do something, about the mess we created for ourselves.
– “16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
For our meditation this morning, let us look at these words from John 3:16…
– “…that whosoever believeth in him should not perish…”
Herein we see, God out of His love, working towards, resolving the conflict. God our Creator, loved the world, gave His Son as a Substitute, to stand in our place, and bear all the righteous and deserving punishment, that is ours. This is love at its finest display. Oh the love of our LORD!!!
Love, when it is genuine and pure, would seek to resolve the conflict. If required, be willing to pay the price for the reaching out, rescue, redemption and restoration of the person, who is totally at fault. This is the highest expression of love, which the Geeks call, the AGAPE LOVE! A love that offers itself willingly, to help the person at fault, unconditionally, without expecting anything in return, for such a sacrificial, precious and priceless love.
Therefore, “…whosoever believeth in him…” – the LORD Jesus Christ – is redeemed and restored, to the image, that God originally intended for the humans, and the world. This love, that the God of the Bible demonstrates, towards the fallen, sinful, wicked and evil rebellious enemies of God is, simply out of the world, quite literally.
– May we learn to recognise, remember and always recall, that God chose to resolve the conflict, out of His unconditional love.
– May we learn to deeply appreciate that LORD, and be ever so grateful to Him, for such an amazing love, shown towards utterly undeserving people like us.
– May such an understanding help us to worship the LORD with all our heart, soul and body.
– May we always be found to be, faithful and obedient to the LORD, who willingly chose to give Himself, as the sacrificial Lamb, for our redemption.
Even so the LORD help us.
"...the Son of God given for the world, and every one who believes upon, casts his whole being upon Him, and, like Abraham, in will rests all upon God, finds that God has provided Himself a lamb for a burnt-offering instead of human sacrifice or death."
