How is your “MONDAY” – BUSY, BURDENSOME OR BEAUTIFUL?” Many feel the “Monday Blues” – because Mondays can make some really feel stressed. The work week begins on a Monday, and all the work waiting to be done, along with all what is pending, can make people anxious, and thus the stress, and the term, “Monday Blues.”
The Bible has some interesting words for us, if we are having “blues” of some kind about work, and work related issues. It is not some magical solution to solve our issues, but it certainly helps us.
– “5 The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, And hastens to the place where it arose…9 That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.” – Ecclesiastes 1:5
The above words may not seem much like a solution. You are right, if you have thought so. The Bible hits the matter much deeper, than just the surface. It hits at the heart of the matter. It hits at our attitude, and our approach to work. Let us break up the scripture portion, and see what it has to offer us.
– The sun also rises, and the sun goes down.
– And hastens to the place where it arose.
– That which has been is what will be.
– That which is done is what will be done.
– And there is nothing new under the sun.
In simple words, the Bible is telling us that, life is cyclic. Things keep repeating themselves. The sun goes down, marking the end of that particular day. The sun rises again, marking the beginning of a new day. What can we learn? Don’t worry or stress much about anything. Things will come and go. We need to hold on, and keep moving. Just because this day was cold, windy and rainy, doesn’t mean tomorrow would be the same. Tomorrow is a new day, and it could be an entirely different day, with such shining warmly upon us.
What is being considered here, is not some “new age” Christianity. However we need to be aware of many false teachings they are prevalent these days, misleading us into things that are not Christian, nor biblical. The LORD is asking us to change our perspective. The LORD is asking us to approach life with a positive frame of mind. The reason for such an approach to life, and such an attitude, is because, the LORD is the one who holds the reigns of every day. If we learn to trust and depend upon Him, He will guide us like the Good Shepherd that He is, each day of our lives.
– “1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:1-4
Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, let us remember the exhortation of the Word of God for our life, and for our work. Let us never forget it.
– “10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” – Ecclesiastes 9:10
– “17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” – Colossians 3:17
Whether it is a Monday or a Friday, let us not be weighed down. Whether we have a heavy workload, or a lesser workload, let us focus on the quality of work we can produce, by doing the work well, and not focus on the quantity of it. Things don’t remain the same always. They do change every single day. Above all, let us learn to lean upon the LORD, for help and strength. He will surely help us, and guide us.
– “1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills – From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.” – Psalm 121:1-4
It is a BEAUTIFUL Monday morning, isn’t it? Have a great day, and a wonderful week. The LORD our Creator, and our Redeemer, will be with us, as we wade through another week, beginning with this beautiful Monday. Even so, the LORD help us.
"Look at Monday through a lens of gratitude and purpose. Think about what you’ve been blessed with: the people you love, the skills you’ve been given, and (if you’re a breakfast person) the food you’re about to eat. Once your mindset shifts to gratitude, you’ll begin to enjoy the rhythm of the day more and more."
