Human life, in many ways is, cyclic in its nature. The Bible tells us that, there is nothing new under the sun. Things that have been in the past, will be back in the days to come. It doesn’t need a great brain, to figure this out. Life, in an earthly and human sense is, cyclic in nature, but with small cosmetic changes, every now and then.
– ‘9 That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.” – Ecclesiastes 1:9
However, life with God, and under the wings of the Almighty, it is entirely different. Things take a decisive turn towards New Life, under God. Life with God becomes exciting because, we become new. We get a new life, a new meaning, a new purpose and a whole range of new things. Let us see what the written Word of God has to speak about, the New Life in Christ Jesus our LORD, and the hope which available, only in Him, for a world, that is running in circles, with nothing new to offer, and an absolutely hopeless future.
1- GOD OUR ONLY HOPE, HE MAKES ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL IN HIS TIME
– “21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” 25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. 26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD. 27 It is good for a man to bear The yoke in his youth.” – Lamentations 3:21-27
2- GOD, THE CREATOR OF NEW LIFE
– “16 Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters…18 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:16;18-19
3- NEW LIFE, IN THE FULLNESS OF GOD’S TIME…
– “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” – Galatians 4:4-5
4- BEHOLD, WE ARE A NEW CREATION
– “17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
5- ALL THINGS MADE NEW – THE FUTURE
– “1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” – Revelation 21:1-5
Let us not be overly concerned, at the monotonous and cyclic nature of life, on earth. True, it can test our nerves. If we face life, in our own strength and wisdom, it surely will be a dredge, and will drain all the energy and enthusiasm, from our lives. However, if we face our life, here in earth, with the help of God, and with the strength, wisdom and hope that He alone can give, it blooms into a beautiful life, despite all the struggles and storms. The choice is clear. There is no ambiguity. I would rather walk with God, than in my own strength. We are called by God, as Christians, to lean on the LORD, and learn to live, the remainder of our time, here on earth, by looking into Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of our faith – Hebrews 12:1-2a. What about you?
"Life's repetitive cycles remind us of our limitations and the need for divine perspective. Recognizing this can lead us to seek God's eternal wisdom rather than relying solely on human understanding...True purpose and fulfillment are found in aligning our lives with God's will and eternal plan...Focusing on eternal values rather than temporary achievements helps us live with purpose and hope, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain."
