OH HOW GREAT IS THY GOODNESS!

Anyone who truly knows God of the universe, the Creator of all things, seen and unseen, will but say, *”Oh How Great is God!”* There can’t be two opinions on this. Realising this, very early in life, David declares the same in Psalm 31:19-20, which is titled as “SHELTER from TROUBLE in the SECRET PLACE of GOD’s PRESENCE.”
– “19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!  20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” – Psalm 31:19-20

1- “19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee…”
The goodness of God in a general sense, is upon all the world, regardless of their belief in God of not. Rain, sunshine, and all other benefits from the earth is, enjoyed even by wicked people. However, for those who fear Him – reverential respect ascribed to God as our worship – will surely enjoy God’s great goodness, that He has laid up for all such people.

2- “…which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!”
This goodness is exclusively for those who fear God, and trust Him, openly before all people, for all their needs and concerns. For such, God will move His righteous Right hand, and shower His goodness, and His blessings, into their lives.

3- “20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man:”
YAHWEH, not only provides all our needs, and addresses all our concerns, but also, protects us from every conceivable harm and danger. He hides us in the “secret of His presence” and shields us from the pride, arrogance and the wrath of evil men.

4- “…thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.”
The LORD Jesus will keep us safe under His able protection, from the wagging tongues, that desire to cut us into a thousand pieces. God will encompass us with His presence, and will cover us in safety, under His mighty wings.

Dear friends, brothers and sisters, what more would one want in this life? God stands as our Shield and our Defender. He will cover us in His secret pavilion, and shields us under His mighty wings. Can anything be better than such safety and security? Only a fool of the first rate would think so. 
– “[Those who place their trust in God]…Their life shall be so hidden with Christ in God, that their enemies shall not be able to find them out. To such a hiding-place Satan himself dare not approach. There the pride of man cannot come.” – Adam Clarke

Dear friends, there is no better PERSON than God, to trust all that matters to us, and concerns us. He alone is our sure and secure “SHELTER from TROUBLE, and WE FIND OUR PROVIDENCE and PROTECTION ONLY IN THE SECRET PLACE of GOD’s PRESENCE.” Therefore, let us learn to fear God and trust Him. Let us confess our allegiance to Him, in and through our thoughts, words and deeds. Let us seek Him for help, that we would stand strong, and live a life, worthy of his name. Even so, the LORD help us.
