Hope is the anchor and the sail of a Christians life. It keeps us grounded securely in a raging storm. It also helps us journey in the right direction, and surge forward towards our designation. In the midst of confusion and chaos, hope keeps us sane and helps us tide over every doubt and fear.
This hope that we as Christians have, is based not on our belief and our strength. It is found on the LORD our Saviour, who redeemed us by His precious and priceless sacrifice.
Let us read the words of Jesus to Martha, Mary and her family and friends, when Lazarus died and was buried for three days already – “25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” – John 11:25-26.
The hope offered by the LORD is not an empty hope, and a feel good hope. It is the hope backed by the Creator Himself, who makes the promise, and will hold it good for all who believe. How wonderful and comforting!!!
Have you found this hope? Is your life based on this hope? What is it that you holds your life together? If our lives are not built on this hope, alas, it is no hope at all. Let us believe in this glorious hope, offered by the LORD Jesus Christ.
"Hope is called the anchor of the soul (Hebrews 6:19) because it gives stability to the Christian life. But hope is not simply a ‘wish’ (I wish that such-and-such would take place); rather, it is that which latches on to the certainty of the promises of the future that God has made."
