Each day is beautiful in its own right. Yes it is true, each day is different from any other day. Yet, for a Christian, each day is beautiful and praise worthy. It is not some “sick” and “demented” way of looking at the day, and our lives. The reason why the Bible encourages us to look at each day that way, and why the men and women of God who walked before us, encourage us to do so, is summed up in the following words, that the LORD enabled the apostle Paul, to write to the early Church.
– “16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
– “20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” – Ephesians 5:20
– “17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” – Colossians 3:17
Let us consider today, and the few days to come, some reasons from the Bible, why we can and should praise and thank God for each new day, that is gifted to us by our LORD.
THE REASON #1 – THE LORD MADE THIS DAY!
The LORD has made this day, just as He made the other days. Therefore, we will rejoice and be glad. Simple and straightforward reason. HalleluYah!
– “24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalms 118:24
This brings to my mind, the beautiful song that I learnt as a little boy, in the Sunday School. “This is the day, this is the day, That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made. We will rejoice, we will rejoice, And be glad in it, and be glad in it.”
Now whatever may come our way this day, we will rejoice in it because, the LORD our God had made it. It is He who will walk with me through it all. Therefore, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Yes, I will “PRAISE HIM – BECAUSE THE LORD MADE THIS DAY!” Even so, the LORD help us.
"It is today that we shall endure, suffer, and bear everything with joy, fully believing that God is in control. Today we shall be bold and not lose courage, but rather look to the things that are not seen, because then our tribulations will be light and temporary and will work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)"
