Paul writing to young Timothy, and by default, to all Christians, mentions some very profound things in 1 Timothy 2:1-3 – “1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;”
What Paul is exhorting us, is something the LORD spoke to the people of Israel, through Prophet Jeremiah, in Jeremiah 29:7 – “7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”
The LORD wants us to be praying for our leaders, and seek the peace of the nation into which each of us are born. What better day than today, when India is celebrating its 75 years of independence?
Therefore, let us, as the children of the Living God, seek His face for India, its leaders, and the people, that the LORD God Almighty would bless our nation, and all its inhabitants.
