Life has its twist and turns. Life can and will throw surprises at us. Life can be a challenge. Such times of twists, turns, and challenges, can be troublesome and painful. At times, challenges, which can be more often called as, struggles, storms and sufferings, can make us go through wilderness, which can be lonely and scary.
Have you any such experiences? Well, all who go through such times are not alone. Many a man of God had gone through tough times of severe testing. In Psalm 7 we find David expressing his anguish Aber the same subject. NKJV titles this Psalm as,. “Prayer and Praise for Deliverance from Enemies.” NKJV further describes Psalm 7 as “A Meditation of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.” When we read verses 1-16, we can gauge what David had experienced, and what he had gone through. It is a terribly painful experience, and a crushing experience, which at its finest, is designed intentionally to hurt and harm David, to the maximum.
With all that David had experienced, he concludes the Psalm with these words, in verse 17…
– “17 I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.” – Psalms 7:17
What words they David speaks! What lesson for us! What insights for all who are going through similar situations!
What about us? What are some of the situations that we are going through? Would David and his experience be of some help? Would David’s conclusion be of inspiration for us, to seek and trust YAHWEH, the LORD God Almighty, in our situation? Would David’s experience of life, and especially, the LORD, make us SING PRAISE TO THE LORD MOST HIGH? Let us read the whole Psalm 7 to gain a fuller and deeper understanding.
May the LORD’s praise be always on our lips, with ever increasing gratitude to Him, for His unfailing grace and mercy towards and upon us. Let us never forget that we ourselves are sinful and wicked, to begin with, but for the grace of that that saved us. May the LORD be lifted up in and through our praises and thanks.
"Let us look to the Saviour under all our trials. Blessed Lord, give us grace to look to thee in the path of tribulation, going before thy church and people, and marking the way by thine own spotless example. Under all the persecutions which in our lesser trials mark our way, let the looking to Jesus animate our minds and comfort our hearts."
