We as Christians are called to walk by faith. Faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, and in His ability to help us safely navigate through the ups and downs of life. Of all the tripping points that we encounter, our enemy, the Satan, is the biggest, and also, the one who has a hand in all our struggles and stumblings.
The comfort is in this, that the LORD out Saviour, doesn’t leave us to fend for ourselves. He is there with us, and will make us strong, to face the wily darts of Satan, and help us stand firm. He is our Great HIGH PRIEST, our only MEDIATOR, and our untiring ADVOCATE. As our High Priest, He offered Himself as our sacrifice, and makes us righteous. As our Mediator, He will interceded for us, and our good…He will pray for us, and our wellbeing …that your faith may not fail…. As our Advocate, He will stand by us, and fight our case. He will not abandon us, but rather, He will ensure that we are victorious in our life.”
The LORD, speaking to Peter in Luke 22:31-32 gives us a glimpse into the realm that is unseen to us – “31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
If we trust the LORD, and walk in faith and obedience, to our Master, He will ensure, that we walk safely, through all the traps, laid by our eternal enemy.
There is only way forward for us as the disciples – to stand up to the evil one in “our” strength. Don’t get me wrong. The LORD helps us with all that is needed, and thus we will stand on our ‘own’ strength.
Therefore, let us not lose hope and be despaired. Let us hold on to our LORD. He will help and guide us through it all. Let us hold on to our faith in the Living and Loving LORD Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and our Master.
"Disciples are learners. As disciples of Jesus we are called to the lifelong adventure of learning to follow him closely and faithfully."
