THE BLESSING OF THE LORD – THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE

The three fold blessing, as found in Numbers 6:24-26, which the LORD had commanded, to be pronounced upon His children, the Chosen Ones, is a blessing initiated by the LORD Himself. It speaks about His heart, and His love, for His people. *This blessing is an unconditional blessing. 
– “24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: 25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26

Point to note is, this blessing is for all, who have made YAHWEH their God, their Rock, and their refuge. This group includes all who will be justified in His Son, the Christ Jesus of Nazareth, our LORD and our Redeemer, from the beginning of creation, till the end of time. The blessing is to all, who have accepted the gracious offer of salvation, available only in the LORD Jesus Christ. 

All who haven’t done so – Jew or Gentile – have no part in this blessing. For the blessing is only for His Chosen People – Jew and Gentile. Because, there is only one Chosen People from Genesis to Revelation; and there is only one Covenant People, right from the beginning, till the end of time.

1- THE TRUE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM
– “6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.” – Galatians 3:6-9
– “6 But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” 8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” – Romans 9:6-8

2- THE BLESSING AND THE PROMISE IS ONLY BY FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS
– “13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” – Galatians 3:13-14

3- THE PROMISE IS TO THE “SEED” – WHO IS CHRIST JESUS, OUR REDEEMER – THE LAMB SLAIN FROM THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD!
– “16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.” – Galatians 3:16-18

4- THE TRUE SONS AND HEIRS OF PROMISE – CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM – “ONE CHOSEN PEOPLE” – “ONE COVENANT PEOPLE” – JEW AND GENTILE ALIKE
– “26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” – Galatians 3:26-29
– “14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” – Romans 8:14-17

5- THE HIDDEN MYSTERY OF THE MESSIAH, REVEALED – “THE SALVATION OF THE WORLD”
– “​1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,” – Ephesians 3:1-6

The Chosen People and the Covenant People were never on the basis of race or ethnicity, but only on the basis of grace, mercy and forgiveness available in the LORD Jesus Christ. May the LORD help us to see the eternal workings of the YAHWEH, the LORD God Almighty, our Christ, our Redeemer. Even so, the LORD help us.
