The world has offered, and continues to offer ‘gurus’ and ‘guides’ to help the humans navigate our lives. They have advises and insights that seem to hold the attention of the world, and the people appear enthralled and mesmerised by their words. Sadly, such words turns out to be empty, and are forgotten sooner or later…for there is no worth in them.
The Bible talks about the God of all creation. It speaks about the Saviour who came down to redeem the fallen human beings, and give us an abundant life – “10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10.
The abundant life that Jesus is talking about, comes to us because, He laid down His life as a sacrifice for our sins, and our redemption – “11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11.
The shepherds who are hirelings, of which there are many in this world; they offer mere words, and an empty life. The moment they smell trouble, they vanish, for they care not for our welfare. The GOOD SHEPHERD on the other hand, has laid down His life as a ransom for our redemption, because He love and cares for us.”
Does the Good Shepherd mean anything to us? Is He our Shepherd too? Do we belong to this Shepherd?
"Trust the Lord. He is the good shepherd. He knows His sheep. And His sheep know His voice."
