The LORD in His grace and mercy has promised us a great many things. The promises of the LORD comfort us and strengthen us in all the ups and downs of our life.
The promises of the LORD speak about the heart of God, and His care and concern for us and our welfare. The LORD truly cares for us, and willing to stand with us in all our struggles. This is so uplifting.
The LORD Jesus in John 14:13-14 says these words that should give us courage and confidence to face anything – “13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
However, it is good for us to remember that the promises of God are not like blank cheques, for us to encash as and when we wish for. True the LORD cares for us. But, the purposes of God takes precedence, and in this is our good and our blessing. Remember – “28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
"A readiness to believe every promise implicitly, to obey every command unhesitatingly, to stand perfect and complete in all the will of God, is the only true spirit of Bible study."
