THE LORD IS THY KEEPER

One of the most inspiring, uplifting and much needed subject to study and meditate is, the faithfulness of God. It is next only to the love of God. The Bible says, “YAHWEH is absolutely faithful and trustworthy” time and again, as if, to drill into our hearts and minds that, we should learn to trust and hope in Him, at all times, regardless of how things are going with us, what we think in regards to it, and how we feel about it. HalleluYah!!!
– “21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:21-23

Let us read Psalm 121:5-6, and see what can we learn about God’s faithfulness towards us, His sheep, and His people.
– “5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.” – Psalm 121:5-6

Is it not comforting and uplifting to read that, God is our KEEPER, our SHADE, One who STANDS on our RIGHT HAND, so much so that, sun by the day, and moon by the night, WILL NEVER EVER HARM US? If these words don’t bring comfort, solace and encouragement to us, I guess, nothing else would.
– “What the psalmist really means, [in Psalm 121:5-6] though in figurative language, is that nothing either of the day or night can harm us if God is keeping guard. God is our covering against every calamity. He is our shade against the visible perils of the day as well as the hidden perils of the night.” – James Montgomery Boice

Oh glory HalleluYah to the LORD, who demonstrates Himself to be, so utterly faithful towards us, despite our sin, our rebellion, and our fickleness of heart and mind. Let us read, a few more verses from the Good Old Book, to see for ourselves, the glorious faithfulness of God, and His deep concern for us, born out of His, unconditional agape love, for us. Under His wings, and His shade is, our sure safety, and our complete security.
– “4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” – Isaiah 25:4
– “​1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust…4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” – Psalm 91:1-2,4

This morning, as we walk into a new day, may we walk into it, with this knowledge that, God Almighty, our Creator, and our Redeemer, is walking with us. He is our KEEPER, and our SHADE, under whose WINGS, and His PROTECTIVE GAZE, is our PROTECTION, PROGRESS and PROSPERITY. Is God of the Bible, our refuge? Is He the One to whom we run, in times of need? Is the LORD Jesus, our SHADE and our SHELTER, from the sun, the storm and the struggles? Let us run to God, and seek His face, at all times, for He alone is our hope, and our future. Even so the LORD help us.
