What are we facing these days? Are troubles and trials become our travel mates? Let us not be worried. The LORD will make a way for us. The great German reformer, Martin Luther, writing a letter, to a friend, on 08 August 1518, makes an important point, which will help us see things clearly, while in the midst of a storm. He wrote, *”The Lord will provide with the trial, a way out.”*
What Luther wrote is not some escapist dreamer, hallucinating while I’m trouble. No, far from it, Luther is merely re-emphasising a sound biblical truth. The apostle Paul, writing to the Corinthian believers, says…
– “13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13
Here is the breakdown of the truth…
– No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man
– God is faithful
– God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able
– Along with the temptation, God will also make the way of escape
– So that you may be able to bear it
So, whatever is it that we are facing, we need not be overly, and unduly worried, and be disturbed. The LORD will make a way for us…trust Him and His providence. The LORD will ensure that a way out of our troubles is prepared for us.
– “1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. 3 For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Saviour…” – Isaiah 43:1-3
"God's favour and good-will to his people speak abundant comfort to all believers. The new creature, wherever it is, is of God's forming. All who are redeemed with the blood of his Son, he has set apart for himself. Those that have God for them need not fear who or what can be against them."
