July 5, 2026Praise and glory belongs to the eternal and ever existent YAHWEH, the LORD our God, our Creator and our Redeemer since the eternal past, and into the eternal future. But for the LORD, we have no standing, and but for His grace, all what we do is of no values whatsoever. Without God we have nothing to our credit, whoever we may be, and whatever we may have “achieved” in this life. Therefore the Psalmist declares…
– “1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD. “ – Psalm 150:1-6
A keen eye would have noticed that, “Psalm 150 contains no argument, no real teaching, no real explanation. It is an eloquent, passionate cry to all creation to give Yahweh the praise due to Him.” [Enduring Word Commentary on Psalm 150.] What is the Word of God trying to tell us through this Psalm? Have we paused and pondered on such a question? Can we pause for a moment right now, and ask ourselves this question, and try to answer it? We are instructed to praise, worship and thank God our LORD for who He is, and for all what He has done in the world, in particular, for all what He has done, is doing and will done in our very own lives. Don’t you think so?
The Word of God is clear in instructing us to praise God with all our heart, mind and soul. The Bible emphatically urges us to do so because, the LORD is the only One who truly deserves all our praise. Here are few more scripture portions for us to gain deeper and clearer insight into WHAT and HOW we can and should praise our LORD.
– “1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.” – Psalm 145:1-3
– “1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD. 2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, 3 Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.” – Psalm 135:1-3
– “4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” – Psalm 100:4-5
– “1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise? 3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.” – Psalm 106:1-3
What is our praise this morning? Whom are we praising in our lives? Is God our LORD, our Creator, and our Redeemer, the object of all our praise and worship? Are we praising and worshipping something or someone else more than God? May we realise that God is our Father, apart from being our Creator and our Redeemer. Let us therefore, always remember to praise Him, worship Him, and thank Him with all our hearts, at all times, in all situations, for all the days of our lives, unceasingly. Even so, the LORD help us.
