Asaph asks a question, and answers it himself. The answer to the question is more important than the question itself. Here is the question and it’s answer – “25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.” – Psalms 73:25.
Do we ask such questions to ourselves? What answer do we arrive at? Can we confidently assert like Asaph? Worth pondering over these questions.
The apostle Paul, writing to the Philippian Christians has these words to say about himself and his faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, in Philippians 3:7-11 – “7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Paul gives us insight into how we should look at the world, and all that it has to offer. When we begin to think on these lines, we will answer the question like Asaph. May the LORD help us.
"The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is because they haven’t yet come to the end of themselves. We’re still trying to give orders, and interfering with God’s work within us."
