Man with all his advancement and sophistication, still is fickle, fragile and finite. It is the faithfulness of God, that holds us in one piece, and helps us progress and prosper. Is it not so? But for a faithful God, and His goodness, we would not move forward even an inch. This the reality and the truth.
Moses, while giving the law to the people of God, speaks about the faithfulness of God in Deuteronomy 7:9 – “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations,”
The same is echoed by Paul while writing to the young man Timothy, in 2 Timothy 2:13 – “13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” I just love the way it comes across in the Telugu Bible – “మనము నమ్మదగని వారమైనను, ఆయన నమ్మదగినవాడుగా ఉండును; ఆయన తన స్వభావమునకు విరోధముగా ఏదియు చేయలేడు.” – 2 తిమోతి 2:13
It is plain and clear, that we humans are absolutely untrustworthy. On the other side, the LORD God Almighty is absolutely trustworthy. He doesn’t change, nor break any of His promises for any reason whatsoever. This includes our unfaithfulness.
It pays us good to remember that we are to seek God to help us be faithful to Him. We should not take advantage of God’s goodness and grace, and live as we like. “God is faithful” – this doesn’t mean we do as we like.
Let us be thankful and grateful to the LORD, for being so faithful towards us. Let us seek His for help, that we be found faithful and trustworthy, just like Him. May the LORD help us.
"The glory of God’s faithfulness is that no sin of ours has ever made Him unfaithful."
