What drives us to think, speak and do things is a sure indicator of what is deep within us, and that which means the most to us. There is no duplicity about it. What is deep within our hearts, is something for which, we will be willing to spend all our energies upon.
Jesus, speaking about hearts, and the “treasures” for which we long, and are willing to “die” for, has this to say – “19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” – Matthew 6:19-21.
What is it that we are striving for, deep within our hearts? What is it for which, we are willing to go to great lengths, to attain and achieve? Let God and His gospel be the guiding light to lead us, in all things that we think, speak and do. Let our hearts be willing to do that which glorifies God our Creator and Redeemer.
Let us never forget the words of Jesus in regards to our needs and necessities – “33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33.
