Love has power, which nothing else has. Love, as the Word of God puts it, is not the same as most of the world thinks. Love, that the Bible speaks about is proactive, forgiving, gracious and sacrificial. This is so unlike what the world offers.
When we look at ourselves, we see nothing to boast about ourselves. Even though we have been, nothing but sinful, rebellious, wicked and evil, with the LORD, yet, He had been, and continues to be, good, gracious and merciful, towards us. Oh, what love is it!!!
We can better comprehend the love of God, and appreciate it, for all it is, when we understand our worthlessness, helplessness and hopelessness. Ann Tatlock sums it up well – “Here is the paradox. We can fully embrace God’s love only when we recognize how completely unworthy of it we are.”
The apostle John, who is called the beloved disciple of the LORD Jesus, says – “9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” – 1 John 4:9-10. Can anything come closer to this wonderful and amazing kind of love??? I don’t think so.
The apostle Paul, writing to the Christians at Ephesus, says – “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:4-7
Oh what love is this, that loved a wretch like me? Indescribable and unfathomable is the love of God towards us. This is my opinion and this is my experience. Thank You LORD for loving me.
"Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. ... He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken."
