If we want to know the character of a person, we should look at the effort he puts in honouring his word. One who cannot honour his word, is not a man to be trusted. Such a person is not an honourable man.
God of the Bible is Someone who honours His Word, not matter the cost. Whoever comes to God, seeking His help, and makes Him, his refuge, He will certainly stand with that person, and will surely help.
– “10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” – Psalm 9:10
Let us not be foolish to seek the LORD when in need, and abandon Him, once our prayers are answered. Such a mindset and attitude is wicked, to say the least. Rather, let us eagerly desire to “LIVE FOR THE LORD” so that, He is lifted up, in and through our lives, and glorified in our thoughts, words and deeds. When we do so, the LORD is truly honoured, and He will take care of us, and all our needs. The quicker we learn this lesson, the better it is for us.
– “17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. 18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. 19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. 20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.” – Psalm 145:17-21
Therefore my dear brothers and sisters, let us learn to “LOOK TO THE LORD” for all our needs, and “LIVE FOR THE LORD” all the days of our lives. Even so, the LORD help us.
"Never in the past, so far as David knew, had God forsaken those who faithfully clung to him. They might be tried, like Job; they might be "hunted upon the mountains," like David himself; they might even have the sense of being forsaken (Psalm 22:1); but they were not forsaken nevertheless. God "forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever" (Psalm 37:28)."
