I don’t know what it is about us a humans, we are bent on making idols for ourselves. We need to make our own gods. Gods whom we own, and gods who will do exactly what we ask them to. If they don’t, we can always make some more.
It is a true reflection of the fallen man. The nature is rebellious, and rebellion against God of Creation is its sole purpose. The reason – we don’t want to be under anyone, we want to be on our own.
Man wants to be independent – don’t need anyone else’s help; we can be on our own. We will make our own rules. If we don’t like them, we break them, and make new rules.
Nowhere is this clearly visible, than in the way we make gods for ourselves. Gods that suit us, gods who do our bidding. We wish to own everything, and control them.
What about you my friend? Beware the power of the fallen nature. It can trick the best of best. Be watchful and alert. Bear fruit for the LORD. Be willing to be under His yoke.
“”Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”” – Mat 11:28-30
