Today is a brand new day. Not just that, we are beginning a new month; not only a month, but a whole New Year! We are given 365 blank white pages. It is like a reset button, starting everything afresh.
Life is not easy to anyone. Everyone have their own share of struggles, difficulties and problems. If we look back on our failures and get paralysed, then life holds nothing for us. We will remain paralysed.
One should, in life, always look to the days ahead. Never look back, however bad it may have been, unless one is evaluating the past, with an intention to rectify the errors, learn the lessons, and not intend to repeat them.
Life independent of God is a great and perfect recipe for mess. It is good for us to lean on the LORD, and learn from Him. His yoke is easy and light. He will teach us how to go about life. He can can set any messy situation right. He can set us free from anything that is holding us back.
J. I. Packer has some wise advise for us as we begin the new year – “We must learn to measure ourselves, not by our knowledge about God, not by our gifts and responsibilities in the church, but by how we pray and what goes on in our hearts. Many of us, I suspect, have no idea how impoverished we are at this level. Let us ask the Lord to show us.”
Wishing you and all A Very HAPPY New Year! May the LORD God make your year a blessing to you and your family.
"New Year’s Day is a good time to fix one’s eyes on the only One who knows what the year is to hold."
