Harmony is the key trait of the Trinity. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit have a unity that is perfect and harmonious. We get a glimpse of this in the way the LORD Jesus Christ conducts Himself on His earthly ministry in relation to the Father.
Let us read…
“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” – John 5:19
“I can of Myself do nothing… I do not seek My own will, but the will of the Father who sent Me.” – John 5:30
“I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.” – John 8:28
“For I always do those things that please Him.” – John 8:29
The LORD Jesus, demonstrating the unity, harmony and oneness within the Trinity, goes on to command His disciples, including us, to do the same in John 13:34-35 – “34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
It is but natural for the disciples to follow their Master. Are we following our Master in His footsteps?
