BIBLE ON FINANCES – EARNING

Work invariably pays us…. mostly in money. This we normally call as our earnings, salary, wages or profit. We earn our salary, or the profit, in return for the work done. This is good and honourable. The LORD would be proud to have us work hard, and earn our money in return.

However, not all earnings are good and clean. Many people, in this world, cut corners and cheat, to earn money. They too invest their time, effort, energy and intelligence, and earn their money in return. The LORD would not be happy with such earnings. Such earnings displease Him. Such earnings will become a curse upon the person.

The WORD of GOD has this to warn us in Proverbs 13:11, 10:2, 28:20…“11 Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labour will increase.”
“2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.”
“20 A faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”

Therefore, let us learn to walk the walk of our LORD, and earn our money, salary, wages or profit honourably. Any other means of earning will be a sin, and a huge loss for us.
