The Word of God speaks a lot about love and forgiveness. God demonstrates His love, and also His forgiveness towards sinful world, in an unparalleled way. Cross of Calvary is where the love of God and His forgiveness is seen very clearly. Thank You LORD!
The same Word of God, exhorts us to love all, forgive everyone, and hate none. We are told to hate sin, and hate it just like our LORD – “15…..as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” – 1 Peter 1:15-16; and made very clear in Lev. 11:44, 45; 19:2; 20:7.
WHO IS EVERYONE? Our family, our relatives, our friends, our neighbours, our acquaintances… this who disagree with us, those who dislike us, those who hate us. Simply put, everyone!
WHO IS NONE? To speak plainly – NO ONE! *Whatever they may have done to us, we cannot hate them. Rather, the LORD exhorts us to love them.
The above two are fundamental kingdom principles. The LORD Himself has walked on it, and expects us to follow Him. There are no two opinions on it.
“43 “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven…” – Matthew 5:43
We cannot love others, without forgiving them. We cannot forgive anyone, without first loving them. So let us walk like our LORD, and stop the mere talk!
"To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you."
